re: summer in borovets

A guy I know has been on a walking holiday to Boro in the summer. I'd have thought it would make a good mountain biking resort.

Not a bigger problem Steve, you walk the Mussala pathway. Till Mussala Hut and then is a small hut on the way to the peak, theres a weather station.

May be write a meassage here for I believe peter Delchev, a guy from meterolgic institute of bulgaria they clime it every year.

Or if I can help you mail me.

Hi there.

its pretty straightforward, but dont rely on the Gondola to get you half way there.

A bit eroded near the top (below the winter cables), but nothing scary so no real need for a head for heights. From Borovets its full days walk.

Suggest you also try Seven Lakes area to W-minibus early morning and evening from Samokov to 1700 at Maliovitsa. Doable in a day as well.

Maljovitza is great, even from Borovez a half day trip to Chakar Voivoda Hut, I think this is the much better view, even you can walk from Mussala down via Chakar Voivoda hut to Borovez.

If you want to see some pics, just from the winter I can post some albums again here.
