sweden?

Hey all,

The time has come to plan another ski trip and our thoughts have been wandering to sweden. I know this is a forum essentially about bulgaria, but since we have frequented borovets for the last few years we now fancy something different.

So... has anyone here been skiing in sweden, just wondered what they might think of it in comparison to borovets, for eg price, snow fall, good for intermediates? The money hasn't been spent yet and we may change our minds and return to ...

The money hasn't been spent yet and we may change our minds and return to borovets, but for me (personal opinion so please don't moan.. boro just felt like it was lacking something this year). Sad

Thanks in anticipation,
E xx

re: sweden?

Have never been so unfortunately cant give a personal account but if you are going to go, go to Are, its the best resort in Sweden by miles and is there competition to the Alps. From what i have heard though, skiing in Scandinavia is expensive, well living expenses are i.e. food and drink.

If you are going to go somewhere other than Bulgaria, i would suggest looking at the Alps. If you book early package holidays are the same price as Bulgaria or even cheaper, and if you go to e.g. ...

If you are going to go somewhere other than Bulgaria, i would suggest looking at the Alps. If you book early package holidays are the same price as Bulgaria or even cheaper, and if you go to e.g. Italy, food and drink are not that much more expensive. Livigno in Italy is duty free so prices are comparible to Bulgaria, plus it has 100km+ of high altitude skiing giving better snow conditions. Hope that helps

re: sweden?

Been in Sweden many times. If you go you must go to Åre. Its a big ski resort and they have slopes for everyone.
The prices are high, but the standard on everything super.
Half liter beer cost around 7-8 euro, and for a week you will have to pay around 200 euro for a ski pass.
Im norwegian, so I will of course reccomend you go to norway instead even if you will find the prices in Norway chocking high. :-)
