tap water

OK I know that this isn't exactly a festive posting, but... is the tap water in Boro safe for people with stomachs used to British tap water? I only ask because a few years of working in West Africa have made me very wary of tap water abroad. And no I wasn't suggesting that Bulgaria is a 3rd world country so don't barrage me with postings suggesting that I'm an imperialistic whatever!

yo and happy christmas one and all

re: tap water

Tap water is fine to drink in Bulgaria, but if you have a doggy tum why risk it? A litre of bottled water will cost you around 30p.

re: tap water

Haha nice one thanks. I don't have a dodgy tum because I stick to bottled water abroad usually. I've spent for too many nights (and days) on the the 'god phone' during my early hitches in West Africa to take any chances.

re: tap water

Topper,
I've always drunk the water in Borovets with no ill effects. It has a high mineral content though, which may upset some sensitive tums. I'm lucky, in that I have the constitution of a concrete elephant. I would have thought that anything you'd encounter in Africa would be much worse than the water in Bulgaria.
With the local beer and wine priced as they are, the only problem you'll have, is deciding which beer to brush your teeth with !!!!!
