Hi
We were out in bansko last march and bought a property out there. We were told that the roads will be much improved and half the journey time from the airport. Does anyone know how this is going or if it is actually at all happening.
Many thanks
probably before you benefit from the better roads you will sell you place .nothing for the next couple of years.and even after the improvement has happened ,the last climb to the plato and the first going out of Sofia will be ayways congested.Sorry.Your better bet is : stick to Borovets as a property destination if you want to benefit from shorter transfers.watch this space when Borovets finally gets the improvements moving.Bigger \mountain,(northwest Rila mountain is the snowiest part ...

all that is a massive plus .Sorry Bansko
The problem is that they always seem to be improving the roads. Unfortunately they often use cheaper substandard materials in the roads and therefore they always have "To Keep Improving Them" Quickest time I have driven from Sofia Airport to Bansko is 2 hrs 30 mins, boot down in the middle of a sunny summer afternoon.
