back early this morn after 24 hr delay (sofia airport closed ) will never return to the rila its just a big youth hostel , we are not ski snobs ,just folk who have done different countries and can compare , food no good ,rooms poor , ( had to change due to air duct noises , and they knew this , just replied with the Bulgarian shrug ) Bulgaria will shoot itself in the foot if they dont step up the services . to justify the new prices they are charging ( yes i know what the euro is worth ) snow was good and had a great time though.but the rila no way

The Sofia airport is functioning normally despite the heavy snowfall in Sofia, the airport spokesperson reported on Sunday.

The facility is operating under complicated conditions, but without any significant flight related problems.

None of the scheduled flights have been cancelled. There are however, several delays, largely due to late arrivals.

The arriving flights do not encounter any significant problems. The airport crews are working round the clock to secure normal departures.
