Hi Georgie,
i would just like to make a comment that my husband had his skis stolen last year (we live in Bansko) within ten minutes of them going missing he reported the theft to the Ulen staff at Bunderista, they were not interested at all, they could have at least talked to the staff at the bottom of the gondola station to be on the look out for them (the gondola ride is minimum 20 minutes)
There were 3 pairs of skis on the mountain like his my son owed one pair, a ski instructor ...

There were 3 pairs of skis on the mountain like his my son owed one pair, a ski instructor another, they were bright blue salamon pocket rockets and we took my sons pair to show them what they looked like, the staff did not want to know, we did report the theft to the police and were told 17 other pairs of skis had been stolen the same day.
Ulen need to start taking action, and being aware that thefts are taking place. I am in no way saying it is a scam by staff, but thefts take place more often at weekends, (so anyone holidaying in bansko be on your guard during Bulgarian holidays and at weekends) but Ulen staff need to look out for people carrying ski's who may not be wearing ski boots!!!
We believe that there was a 50:50 chance that my husbands skis could have been retrieved but no one wanted to know!!!!!
It's in Ulen interests to be seen to be taking action when ski's are stolen. I know this happens in all the resorts across europe, but thatdosen't mean the problem should be ignored!!!!

Well said JoyWas with the Failsworth 50 ( see Lord Lewis post ) when this happened to us, and it was the distinct lack of care that annoyed us most.
This petty theft needs to be tackled before more peoples holidays are ruined.
