trying not to panic

We arrive at the Rila late Saturday, is there anywhere to change money on Sunday and will my daughters ski school also start Sunday, if so how do we get money, equipment and ski passes before 10.00am. Also does anyone know if you can opt out of a ski school after say 4 days to ski with the family. Sos about all the questions.

re: trying not to panic

Hi, stayed at the Rila a week ago, it was really good.
You can change money at the hotel but only get about 2.5 levs / £, if you go to the main street there is a littel change booth where you get 2.7, and they don't rip you off.
You get your equipment from one of two hire stations either side of the slope at front of hotel, they open at about 9:00.
I kept my equipement for the whole week but you can check it back in there every night. If you don't want to go to ski school after a few days ...

Hope you enjoy it

You can change your money at the Rila reception 24 hours a day, so you can get some cash when you arrive at the hotel dont change too much though just get enough to see you through one day as the exchange rate is not as good as in the street. I have been told that the ATM near the gondola gives a good rate also.

Ski school usually starts about 10am, but the ski hire shop is open from about 8.30am. Don't panic life is so laid back there, we were a bit late the first day, but so were ...

Very Happy

Hi

We were at the Rila a week ago. We changed some money at Gatwick airport but there was also a change booth in Sofia Airport.

We did queue for a while for our ski's but this was due to a power cut so the poor things were working by candle light. I would say still expect a queue on Sunday am as everyone is being fitted. The instructors don't divide anyone up until everyone as there equipment so don't panic. We managed to see our rep for all passes, get kids to kindergarden ...

Have fun Very Happy

In Pamporovo, I went to Ski school all morning, then after lunch went off free skiing, met up with my mate for the PM, I am sure it will be the same in Borovets!
