vegan in Bansko

This will probably make a few of you chuckle 
but I'm a vegan and will be arriving at Bansko at the weekend. Anyone ever ordered a vegan menu from the Pirin hotel in Bansko? I have been told horror stories about people who were vegetarians being given meat and when they complained being told "But it is vegetarian, it is chicken!" so I am a bit nervous. But as long as noone declares the chip an animal I reckon I should find something to eat!
Would be interested to hear from other veggies ...

To be honest I think you are really going to struggle. Even the salads have cheese on you will have your work cut out

looks like it's a diet of chips garnished with chips, followed by chips then - and I might have chips as a starter too!thanks for the reply!

Lynn there will be loads of choice for you.There are berries on the trees, plus lots of fir cones to make an ice cream cone.
Most of the people there are nuts, so you could always eat them
Joking aside, you will not go short. The omlettes are superb, whoops...... fish and chips without the fish .........whooops.
Lots of salads
you will be fine............. also the jacket potatoes are delicious PP

There's a new supermarket opening on the outskirts of bansko, probably your best bet
having lived here for 4 months i don't rate your chances unless you can explain exactly what you want in bulgarian
pickled vegatables are good not sure about with chips though
vegetarians are catered for in most mehana's but not sure about vegans
it is unlikely the bulgarians have any understanding of a vegan diet
be aware even mushrooms are generally cooked in butter
all menus offer ...

try thr moleriter (Молъритъ) up the hill from the bansko hotel on the road where the river is (there is a big barrel outside) the waiters speak english (if anyone in your party eats meat would recommend the rack of ribs, the chicken suprise and the chicken wings)
