Never boarded there myself, but my understanding is the slopes are north-facing, so they should've held up better to the high temps and recent lack of snowfall.
Vitosha is not bad for one day skiing. There are 2 old chair lifts and a few drag lifts. It is still not a western type of resort (hopefully it will change with the venue of the new owners-the same ones as those in Bansko). The ski pass costs 35 lev for the day.
at least you can drive up to Aleko and ski there avoiding gondolas massive queues. When you are finished just go back the same way.during the week there are no queues.and evening skiing is well worth the try.
