waxing a snowboard

Right you knowledgeables, I am done for this season, do I have my board exquisitely waxed and edged by my local shop who do a superb job on a magna traction banana now and store it for a year or do I wait and have it done prior to next years powder fest? I know wax is a very stable substance but just wonder what do you do with boards and skis.
Happy March snow to all you lucky people going out.
Thanks Very Happy

re: waxing a snowboard

In the past I've had a wax done, but not scraped it off before storage, just to give the edges a bit of protection, but as long as it's bone dry when you put it away and not stored in a damp place (shed, basement or some attics), you shouldn't have any horrible rust spots next year.

As for a full service, I'd wait until the start of the next season.

re: waxing a snowboard

Cheers chaps, it's happy & bindingless on it's tail in a dry attic room, edges are in perfect nick as it saw a week of powder and no rocks or tree stumps this year. I was just so impressed by the service it had earlier, I was tempted to have it waxed now. Best just put it to rest for the year.
