weekend breaks to borovets

Hi,

Well I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, I haven't been to Bulgaria since January. Sad

I'm fancying a last minute escape to catch what's left of the ski season - does anyone know how to get hold of 3-4 day deals? I've tried a couple of the usual sites (crystal and balkan holidays) but they only seem to be advertising full weeks, which I can't manage due to work commitments.

Please help, I'm desperate to go!

Thanks in advance,

pq

re: weekend breaks to borovets

try booking with wizz air for a cheap flight, www.wizzair.com and then we found a lovely hotel at the bottom of the rila slopes called ice angels try finding it on a search engine. just take a taxi from sofia will only take about an hour, hope that helps!

re: weekend breaks to borovets

Thanks, great tips - and I didn't know about Wizz!

Just checked, Fri - Mon is doable (ski Sat and Sun) but the cost of flights, accommodation and taxis works out at probably a shade under £400, which is over my budget. Darn ... Sad

re: weekend breaks to borovets

The flight weighs in at £226.

The flight cost itself is not that unreasonable in the grand scheme of things, but compared to the usual 7 day package deal prices, and bearing in mind this would just be a Fri to Mon trip, it's quite a lot of lolly for just 2 days of skiing.

Great to know that there is an alternative to BA though for Sofia flights.

So I guess the 'packaged' short breaks must stop around mid-March ...
