We're going to pamporovo 5th March with our 5 yr old - first time skiing for him. can anyone tell me about the ski schools there? Are they any good?? Do they last all day etc etc.
We dont have any kids but I can tell you, they really look after your kids in Pamps. We knew someone there that had 2 kids in the school and they were gone for at least 4 or 5 hours a day. Plus the kids end up like pros at the end of it, or near enough!
Quite a lot of the people I spoke to were disappointed with the kindergarten in Pamporovo when we were there. It was very busy and we didn't get much information about what the kids were actually doing/what was planned etc. Apart from, of course, what the kids told us after.
Some of the kids from our hotel moaned to their parents about kindergarten being rubbish, got taken out then moaned to go back...
It's difficult to judge what other people's children are likely to be able to cope ...

It's difficult to judge what other people's children are likely to be able to cope with, my daughter's 7 and had never seen a ski before, we decided on kindergarten because of the complications of getting ski school booked in advance (just didn't know how it would work when we got there!) and also didn't know if she'd be able to handle the all day every day aspect.
She had a great time, met lots of new friends and learned basics of skiing! They also did lots of bumboarding and sledging and playing! Got a certificate at the end and can't wait to get back!
The only real whinges she had about kindergarten was the kid's room in the Perelik was far too hot (the suggestion that she take off her snowsuit when indoors was met with a scornful look, oh hum!) and the lunch included chips everyday and this wasn't healthy enough for her!
For ten quid a day childcare with ski instruction though it was an absolute bargain!
We got back from Pamps last Saturday. Our 7 year old was officially 'too young' for ski school (they are supposed to be . However, if you speak to your rep it should all be OK - the ski school tend to do as the reps ask. If you don't have a rep, go to the ski school and ask for Tina - a very nice instructor who will help you.
I've heard kindergarten is to be avoided too - Bulgarian cartoons in a small hot room, etc.
We took our two children last feb, our son was 6 and were unable to book ski school.
We paid when we got there through the rep, not expensive and he came with us everyday. Ski instructor was great Miko, he kept him up front with him all the time, although he has been skiing before that.
My daughter, Robyn took to ski school fantastic in Borovets last year. We put her in intermediate in Pamporovo this year, but same as me, she had lost confidence in 1 year. She went back to beginners and soon picked it up again. In 2 days she would have been doing blue runs, but having so much fun with her group we left her where she was.
