re: what is the difference between vip and standard skis
Hi Steve,
It all depends where you hire from, some are some are really good.
I would say though that if you are not happy with the standard of skis take them back and ask for a better set. Normally they are OK about it, we did two years ago when Anne,s were rough, a small tip helped !
re: what is the difference between vip and standard skis
I'm in agreement with Tom, it really does depend on the place that you get them from. If you are on a package i'm not convinced that there really is any difference at all from one operator to the next as they all tend to use the same people for their equipment. I think it tends to be the independent hire shops that can offer alternative equipment however all of them will do the edges and wax them if you are not happy or at least swap them
re: what is the difference between vip and standard skis
As far as I am aware VIP ski's are for more advanced skiers. They are a better performing ski. Race ski's, sports ski's etc etc Twin tips if you like powder etc. A person who is a normal intermediate may not know the difference when rding them as they do not know how to use them in a more advance way and not know what extra perfomance they are capable of delivering to a more advance skier.
re: what is the difference between vip and standard skis
I think that's the theory and why i tend to go for the better skiis myself but you try getting a pair of vip skiis out of Borosports. I probably should have kept my thoughts to myself without knowing which resort the question related to.
