re:whats happened to Kas

I had met with Kaz and Bobby before my recent trip and decided to eat in the Bobbys on my first night, a serious mistake, my steak was still frozen, so decided to eat at Wight Magic for the rest of the week, a decision which I must say was positive and delicious. Another point to bear in mind is that the Ski Service behind the main Gondalla IS open after I got told it was closed. Another point to bear in mind is that the Ski Service behind the main Gondalla IS open after I got told it was closed. There are some serious bad feelings in Borovets regarding Kas and Bobby, their greed in trying to cash in on everything, I was told on Thursday they will shortly be visited by the local Mafia, for a quiet chat, be careful and I am sure loads of people are going to disagree with what I have said, but in my eyes it is the truth. There far better bars and places to go in Borovets, spread your spends.

Well from what I have seen and heard about Bobbys bar it seems like you are one of the minority, we were in there 2 weeks ago and we did see someone who got the wrong meal and complained and Bobbys staff couldn't do enough for them, changing the meal and apploigising, I am just wondering did you complian or just slag them off afterwards beacause I am sure they would have been apologetic, as for the cashing in on everything it seems to me that there are a few pepole in Borovets that are very ...

In response to spread your spends we do visit nearly all the bars when we are there but have alaways ended up back in bobbys for the last few drinks as the late night atmosphere is always good.
And being visited by the mafia obviously you prefer another establishment and think this might frighten people from going in but I dont think it will stop many, never mind
As you said some pepole will disagree with your post and I think your right but as I said I think your in the minority
Happy skiing
Cheers Jon

Very Happy

re:whats happened to Kas

I've visited Borovets numerous times now and have been in most restaurants and bars. There have been times when even your most favourite place can let you down. You have a choice to either go back or not. I, like J & N use a number of places in the resort. I also like to go down to Samokov too, again spreading your holiday money around locals. But people end up where you feel most comfortable / at ease, with a decent atmosphere. Maybe because i'm english but i find Bobby's bar friendly and ...

I find most Bulgarians helpful, Bobby is one of these and goes out of his way to help, in my opinion.

Thing is, to have a successful business means hard work, that's why certain bars/restaurants are busier than others. If you go the extra mile, (have to say Kas has helped me with a number of issues) you will most certainly prosper.

I think it's good to have this forum and lot's of opinions.

Sorry to hear you had a bad time in Bobby's Paul. I just wanted to say however that I have always found Kas and Bobby to be genuine and really have made a massive difference to our holidays. I would also say that we have had good times and food in several places in Borovets and I would not suggest that the only place anyone should go is Bobby's. When we first came to Boro, I used this board to get advice on where to go for various things and was pleased with the recommendations. When I ...
When I comment on threads asking for advice I simply try and return the favour and be honest about what we have found.

As for Kas and Bobby cashing in on things, all I see is a couple working really hard trying to make a living. I don't know what the politics of the place is but what I do know is that there are a number of friendly, helpful and genuine people around who work hard to help people have a good time. Kas and Bobby are just two of that group and if some other don't like it then they need to take a leaf out of their book.

In all my travels I have found that people pretty much fall in one of two camps - good or bad. Good people sometimes let you down but are always honest in trying to make it up. When you treat people how you would like to be treated then the good in people rises to the top and everyone's a winner. A bit cheesy I know but certainly true in the case of Kas, Bobby and lots of others in Boro.

Hi Paul,

Well what can we say, unfortunately you have had a poor experience at Bobbys Sad Having been going to Borovets for the past 13 yrs (dbut) also, we sometimes get the occasional hic-up at most bars/restruants but it is quickly sorted out by staff. Long term friends I have met out in Boro are savy on where to go for great company, great atmosphere and value for money.

This is only Kas & Bobbys 2nd season in this business and they have given 110% to it, even I suspect to the detriment of Karens health. As regard to the rest of the Borovets resort Kas always offers where the good places to eat, buy equipment, ski tuition and also late night entertainment e.i. Kareoke ( Wish Bobbys had this) There are ex pats out there who use Kas & Bobbys regularly and if they use them well that's good enough for us.

White Majic, cannot say enough about Christo, Janet and Lora. Great familly, great instuctors, great atmospere, great food (again with hic ups). Long term friends if you havn't met Christo you havn't been to Borovets. Always give him our painkillers at the end of weeks skiing.

At the end of the day it's your holiday, it's what you make it.

Back out Feb 23rd/12 days Very Happy

S.P. Gentleman

Would just like to echo what Sp says. The people who deserve to succeed are those who work hard and adapt to new situations which some of the bars and people dont seem to have done. While we use Bobbys as a base we also spread our money around but only in places where we get good service and ignore the slagging of that goes on because if I hear it I certainly will not use that bar again as people should gain trade by their efforts and nothing else.

Some banks are around the busstation. Two changing offices one near the busstation you can see it on the opposite 100m away from the point the buses leaving to Borovez, the other one is 200m away, crown exchange in the road on the other end of the market area.

re:whats happened to Kas

The old adage of "You Can't Please All The People All The Time" comes to mind.

In Kas and Bobbys case, they have moved to a lager place, mostly due to the fact that people said that they were unable to get into the last one. 90% new staff.
It is like starting all over again, and there are bound to be the odd hick up. They have invested a lot of time and money into the new venture, and on the whole it is looking good, I would say that as with every new business, it will be next year when ...

It is like starting all over again, and there are bound to be the odd hick up. They have invested a lot of time and money into the new venture, and on the whole it is looking good, I would say that as with every new business, it will be next year when they feel more relaxed. I also know that Kas is always ready with a list of good places to eat in Boro. ( see previous posts)

Christos at the White Magic is an institution, food is good and Janet and Lora are great, ( Lora I hope you are better) will be in to see you all this week.

There are a lot of places in Borovets that I would go into again, there are some that I would not. but you will find that all over the world.

Come on Guys!! life is to short, having said that everyone is entitled to their say!!
