Hello,
Me and 2 or 3 people are looking to go skiing and we are thinking about Bulgaria, I'm thinking Borovets could be the place for us but I am up for opinions from people who know more.
We are all kind of ok at skiing, not pros or anything but we don't need ski schools we have all been before at least twice, so a resort about that kind of skill level?

Also we all like to drink in the evening as well so somewhere with pubs/bars/restaurants would be nice but we're not after some kind of snowy version of Ibiza.
Also, I know this can't be answered very accurately but which resort is looking like having the best snow in the first week in feb?
Sorry for the many questions, I did look for the answers on here but I didn't find them.

I couldn’t complain about the skiing in Pamporovo, as it was great. As was the people, food, etc.
The main problem with Pamporovo is that the majority of the accommodation is a bus ride from the slopes. Only a short bus ride of about ten minutes, but still a bus ride !

Not to sure if this helps

We opted to stay in one of the chalets in the “Malina Village” as can be seen in the pictures. There was everything there that we needed in the way of a restaurant for breakfast and evening meal, plus a bar for a bevy or two. Great if you wanted a quiet night.
The Malina Village was great for the skiing as we could walk to the ski depot, slopes and ski school meeting place within five minutes. Looking at the web site I now see that the Markony Hotel is also situated near the slopes. I think this has been built since we were there as I have no recollection of it.
On the other hand the catch here is that you have to get a taxi in to the village for the nightlife. I have to add taxis were plentiful and cheap. As it was only the two of us we used to share the costs with another couple. Cheap at half the price as they say…
In Borovets we have stayed in the Iglika Palace (2003) & the Ela Hotel (2004). Both offer good standards of accommodation for what you pay. The rooms in the Iglika are bigger but try not to stay on the ground floor, as it is very noisy well in to the early hours of the morning. The food is also better in the Iglika.
The beauty of Borovets is everything is together.
You can more or less ski back to your door. Our ski depot was at the back of the Gondola and was only about 50 metres from the hotel.
Beware the Hotel Olymp is about a five or ten minute walk form the centre. A few of the people in our ski group stayed there and said never again.
The Malina & Yagoda Villages are situated a short bus ride away.
Our reason for changing hotels was location.
The Ela Hotel is located nearer to the Gondola. As we used this most of the time it meant less walking in Ski Boots whilst carrying your skis and sticks. I’m not saying the food is not that good in the Ela, but we took one look at the evening buffet and ate out for the rest of the week.
Next year we are stopping in the Mura. It is a little further to walk, but our ski depot will be in the gondola building. You may have guessed from this that I hate walking in Ski Boots.
Both locations are great, and each has there plus points. The final decision is up to you.
