hi all
a crowd of us from south africa try ski every feb. we do mostly austria and are discussing trying bulgaria. the snow must be tops and the apres party awesome. where should we go and stay ?

go to bansko, if you have the cash stay at the Kempinski Grand right at the bottom of the slopes you can ski to the door, 5 star so a bit more expensive than the others but well worth it, about a 5 min walk to the centre of town. Dont expect the same kind of ski area or town as austria as still developing but a lot cheaper and well worth a visit.
if your experienced and want a challenge you will soon get bored in Bansko, head for Borovets, a lot more challenging and more varied, and a lot more off piste. The night life is also a lot more 'party' than bansko which is a lot more traditional. There are hotels on the slopes as opposed to bansko where you have to use the gondola to access the slopes. There are also some nice catered chalets available as well
