Hi Neil,

It looks like you are emailing from BG? Do you work out here now? Do you know anyone that could help you?

It's a great place to live and work and the winter is normally crazy hours but it's such a short period (eg: 3 months) that all the locals just work their socks off! Bear in mind that in comparison to english wages, it is very low out here - you are e looking at around 10gbp a day BUT you will usually get free food / drink and accommodation so basically you get enough to ...

Bear in mind that in comparison to english wages, it is very low out here - you are e looking at around 10gbp a day BUT you will usually get free food / drink and accommodation so basically you get enough to survive! If it's more about the experience and not making money then it's a great place to be!

Can't help you with Bankso as we live in Borovets but for the next season we are looking after 2 restaurants - the White House at the top and another restaurant at the bottom. Can't make any promises as it's not just our decision, but if you are interested in Borovets, send me an email (click on my name) and I can see if we can help. Even if there is no option to work with us, we may be help with other places that are looking for staff.

And what about the bacon sandwiches??!! Emailed D'boo on Sunday (don't have your email) and gave him more info, so I am sure he will update you!

Jan seems miles away but I bet it will come round quickly! The summer here has been brilliant and very hot (still is!) The last 2 summers were really poor (as were the winters) so hopefully having a great summer this year will start a new trend and we'll have a great winter....

p.s. still got loads of the bl**dy things thanks to D'boo... ...

The competition in Bansko is fierce, especially for the better bars where tips are more likely (tourist bars)... The town floods with people up from the coast after the summer season. Also jobs are filled from Varna and Bourgas, as many bars are owned by companies from these areas...
In saying that, there is a massive turnover of staff, the hours and poor pay, and extortionate accommodation costs, convince many to throw in the towel and head home...

British companies are few and are normally well staffed already...
I would suggest posting on TalkBansko, which is observed by many businesses including Bulgarian... Good luck Very Happy
