We went this christmas - we exchanged presents before we went (and then I sneaked a few surprises in the case too...which was great as they were not expected).
On Christmas Day itself, we skied...and then most hotels hold a Christmas Gala evening where they put on entertainment while you eat and Santa turns up (it's a bit lame actually - but at least they tried!)

We decided to venture out to the bars and the beginners slope which is used for sledging in the evenings - which is FANTASTIC - the kids will love it
...all this said, we went to Borovets and not Bansko - but I am guessing they are pretty similar at that time of year.
P.S. There were LOTS of families there at Christmas ranging from babies to grandparents (obviously they were not all skiing - but still seemed to be having a whale of a time).
same as below except i took main presents with me ,they opened there sacks before they went, and presents from others.christmas decs are a bit thin on the ground but still had fab time.
hope this helps
We did the same - presents before we left.
Skiing in the day, and then Christmas dinner in the evening at the hotel. Our hotel, and eveyone elses I talked to, put on a reasonably good Christmas dinner, in fact, everyone I talked to had exactly the same thing - shopska salad (tomatoes and cucumbers with grated cheese) a platter of meat and cheese, grilled chicken with coleslaw for main, and baklava for dessert. Ours was pretty tasty.
In fact, i plan on being back there next Christmas ...
