Go on Boon, go for 10, we're looking forward to meeting up with some of the 18th Feb Crew on their last night (we arrive 24th), having a blast with the 25th Crew plus as an added bonus we'll also get to meet some of the 3rd/4th March Crew as we do go home until 5th. Happy Days  then us trying to make it back to the hotel

think we done the first ever night ski from the whitehouse and if i remember right there where 2 groups one down the yastrbrets and one down the mussala... we would like to do the yastrbets this time as last time we done the mussala but if there is only one group then i'm sure it will depend on peoples ability or how drunk they get before they ski down... i remember being a bit wobbly on my ski's that night cant think why |

There's 9 of us ooot on the 25th, 4x brats aged 4-16 and 4x kids....i mean adults!! I were out last year in the Rila, Spartacus and crew were there as well. I'm gonna bring some kiss ass headlights for lock- in. I'm with Boon, and gonna do Yastrebets( i'm a gay on a tray) so could do without the flat spots.

If your buying your lift pass direct when you get there it should cover you for all lifts. The problem has arisen when people have booked 'complete beginner' ski packs (lessons, gear etc) through their travel operator, these are apparently restricted now where as in the past they were not. |

Not everyone turns up but children upstairs...and the smokers can do a rotation system on the seats - some outside, some seated and then a swap all night.
You do know we only have about 40 seats, but somehow managed to change that to 70 last week...????? Still not sure how.....!! |

There are four of us out on Sat 25 Feb- all first timers to Borovets and really looking forward to it!
Myself, my 25 year old daughter (a first time skier, but has now been to Milton Keynes SnoZone 2x for lessons), my friend and her 11 year old son.
Can anyone please let me know if there is a time/date when everyone normally meets for the first time at Bobby's Bar? Also are children welcome in the evening?

@Camary, there will probably be a board meet on sunday evening at Bobby's and children are welcome in most bars in Boro - there is a den upstairs in Bobbys with DVD player for the kids to chill in. Hope to meet you on 26th or 25th if your flight arrives early enough. Which hotel are you staying at?

Thanks for the info @N&J. We are staying at the Rila Hotel and we're flying into Sofia on BA arriving @ 1:30.
I don't know if possible, but we were hoping (if we get to the resort early enough) to pick up our equipment on Saturday afternoon to avoid the crowds on Sunday morning
**anyone know if the rental techs (assume w/ Borosports at Rila) are open to tips to do this for people, or if they will do it if we pay for an extra day rental?**
Failing that, we will probably drop our bags and head to Bobby's! Looking forward to meeting all there.

We're also Flying From Manc .... because the Gatwick flights were fully booked - arse - so a quick 4 hr train trip to catch our flight!

@Manc Tom, cheers mate for your last post x2 that boosts our thread count perhaps we might get near the 28th crew record, J & me are already looking at flights/hotel options to join your club on 26th jan 2013, so as not to upset PP all i can say is we are REALLY REALLY looking forward to being back in boro on 24th for our 8th visit and will get Kas and Bobby on an intensive training session to cope with the25th crew following the 1/2 term week when some may have had young uns to look after and may not have had the option to be hard core party animals.
I have decided to get into training again this week, haven't been to the gym but have done a couple of boxes of wine in the last week or so.
Bring on the last week of Feb!!!
Ps. for any newbies on the forum, not all forum members are party animals who party all night and ski part of the day, there are plenty who ski all day and party some of the night |

20yo Lone ranger hitting up Boro for the second time from the 1st of march, but might aswell be first time again as im sure i've forgotten everything i learnt.

It was our first time 5 years ago now on our 8th visit, you will love it, everybody there are so nice and helpful, all you need to do is smile and go with the flow, it's ace
You also picked a good year to go as the conditions are the best we have ever seen but saying that we have never been disappointed with our holidays in Borovets.

I also think it would be amazing if we all get together one morning eat some brekfast then go up gondala and all ski down, i would also love to take a picture of us all up the top that would be great,imagine the amount of bodys on that picture atleast 50 to 70 of us.

I'm out with carey an our last skiing day is the 26th so with most people arriving on the 25th we could do it on the sunday? all try catch the last gondola up few beers in the white house then ski down to catch the carling cup final at 6pm.... carey wont watch that though as he is a bitter blue nose and wont want to watch liverpool win another cup haha |

I`m ariving on the evening of sun 26th into Sofia airport at 20:20, after 1.5 hour transfer to resort and check in it will probably be 11pm at the earliest before I`m able to get out in resort. As I`m now coming alone, it would be great to get in on the meet and greet night so will head straight out. Does the night tend to stay in Bobby`s all night or move around? Think I may have to start drinking at Edinburgh airport so I`m not spending the night catching up with everyone!!!
Only 11 sleeps to go!!!!!!!
So excited!!! Not been on the planks for 5 years!!!

Sunday night is the usual one but will be in there prob every night at least for a bit. Kelvin if we move on will tell kas where we have gone etc.

Any takers out on the 25th crew who can help me out??? Jon not sure whether to join ski school or ski with you guys - I don't want to hold anybody back. Really need to gain confidence and make the leap from intermediate to advanced and conquer a black run! The conditions are perfect for me to make the transition just need some gentle persuasion from a patient mentor.

Lunch times at the top of the gondola there's a place called the white house - cheaper and friendlier than the other restaurants up there. Speak to Kas, she'll be able to point out some people from the board.
Also Bobby's Bar in the evenings I would imagine will be a frequent visit for board members as Kas & Bobby are on here, are married and own both the WH and BB. |

Most of our stuff we either left there last time or its still in the case from last time barring that which needed washing. New jackets purchased today along we some new gloves and goggles for me (managed to put a large scratch in the pair i bought last year )
Will probably throw everything in the case on Wednesday or Thursday prior to out set off at 4am on Friday morning.

Oh its gonna be good. Drink varies from place to place I understand Bobbys is 3.50lv for a large beer plus 10% off for board posters. There are cheaper places lowest I found was 1.50 lv last year. Lol I have never missed the slopes first thing in a morn (actually I was a bit ropey on the last morn but still made it for 10.30 which made me a bit MAD as dont like missing out)
I go to ski, everything else is a close second.

I so agree you can drink all year long if you want to, but us people who have to work can only ski 1 or 2 weeks a year, so I too feel that you have got to make the effort, especially as the slopes are just perfect first thing before 100s of skiers/boarders have gone down them.
And it gives my liver a rest because some nights I do think right that's enough you have got to get up in the morning.

All packed, 2 more days at work (haven't convinced the boss to let me have a half day on Thursday ) and 2 and 1/2 sleeps (will probably only get a few hours sleep Thursday) before heading off to Heathrow around 4.30 am on Friday.
Hoping to be in Boro by 3pm. Jon was hoping to get an hour of skiing in on Friday afternoon but not sure that will happen!
Perhaps just a few instead or maybe even a bit of night skiing - better value than paying for a half day pass for and hours use

Alex, I'm loving the jacket just wish they still made them like that now cos I for one would definitely buy one and would be proud to wear it on the slopes, just keep an eye on it in BBs cos it might just go missing if you leave it unattended. And yes i am being deadly serious, i've got my eye on it!
Looking forward to meeting you all at the weekend.
1 more day at work, 1 sleep plus a few hours snooze tomorrow then we will be on our way, if i had my way we would be up at Heathrow and in the lounge tomorrow night!
