Bulgaria Ski discussion board

I must admit the general lack of info from the resorts (lifts, snow depths etc) was getting me rattled a couple of days ago. Never done Bulgaria or gone so early in the season.....but neither am I new to this so would like to offer the following:

The "invasion" starts this weekend and you can bet, barring another dump, everything will be in place.

Anyone going out this weekend (ie me) is going out the most glorious conditions. The best snow I've ever come across is when theres been a massive dump in the week leading up the start of the holiday with below zero to keep it fresh till you get there. The fact that all the resorts seem quiet means it'll still be good when we get there, which is nice (fast show).

The forecast of light snow till then (if you can beleive any forecast; newbies take note....snow forecasts are like politicians....) means that the time needed to straighten it all out (for us) plus the bit of fresh stuff will almost guarantee the best conditions. The only thing that can top it is a massive nightime dump on say weds of next week, followed by brilliant sunshine the following day. Now THAT would be nice......

And as regards the lifties striking they'll probably send the army in, this being Bulgaria..... (don't you just hate stereotypes.....)

So now having put everybodies mind at rest you can all chill....and buy me a pint in Bansko next week....light blue jacket....old timeless stick....you know the rest.

[ And for those of you out there who can't take a tell the difference, the comment about the army was a joke.... so "angry from surbiton" can stop tapping at the keyboard now]. All the best John.
