Somethin' Fishy Goin' On At Balkan.............................. <(((<

We have booked to fly out from Bristol to Sofia on 21st March with Balkan. Some friends tried to book today but were told that booking for this flight had been 'suspended' and they would be updated tomorrow.

Sounds like the normal Balkan flight con and I'll probably get at letter soon to say we're now flying from Glasgow or somewhere else miles away.

Think I'll give them a call tomorrow and have a little 'chat'

The only flights they never seem to mess with are those from Gatwick.

To be fair to Balkans been the last four years from Manchester and never had a problem, maybe they just darent mess around with me

Had changes every year with Balkan, this year totally cancelled the flight from humberside and moved to manchester, yet when you call them they either refuse to speak to you or are rude and inform you if you are unhappy then they can cancel with a full refund. This year they have changed from Plovdiv to Sofia so are short of time slots, though great for those travelling to Borovets not so good for other resorts.

From the rumours I've heard most tour operators will be cancelling their season in Pamporovo before the end of February!! So PP if you do fly from Glasgow you will probably have the mountain to yourself. Not a bad thing I suppose!!

Are you also aware the Bristol flight stops off at East Mids to pick up passengers! Been looking on the Balkan website for a deal, also for 21 March. They have a Heathrow to Sofia flight, direct, with good flight times. Would prefer a East Mids flight but nothing showing for the 21st. Going on my own this year (again!) as can't take 14 year old son out of school, so wife and him staying at home! Where are you staying?
