Wife, Daughter & I flying out to Boro from Manchester on the 2nd. Staying at the Hotel Bor for a change. Last year stayed at the Rila & then a bit of a gap before that - stayed at the Rila in '90 & '91 (when a large beer was 7p & "champagne" was 60p!!) However, because I have read other posts - I CAN wait!

7p a pint sounds dangerous to me!.... No wonder your user name is Carnage!I'm at the Rila this year. I've not stayed there before. Last time I stayed at the Lion which was excellent but a little far from the slopes.

I am sure you will enjoy staying at the Rila Tortoisebob. Excellent location, but it can be a bit noisy at night if you are at the front of the hotel on the lower floors (take some ear plugs unless you are a sound sleeper).
The 7p a pint was hotel prices too. There were not many bars other than in the hotels in Borovets circa 1990. I was there as a young lad with 5 of my mates. We had a wild week (as young men do) & I spent a total of £15! One of our party managed to spend £45 - but only ...

Hello skiiers, my first post on here,
I'm going to Boro on the 2nd January flying from Gatwick also!
Snow dump looked amazing, cant wait to ski with that fresh powder!!
Its my second time to borovets and last new year i loved it so much i had to book up again, i have been skiing several times before, but the atmosphere the people, and the bars done it for me last year!
Anyone else staying in the rila from the 2nd for a week?
