Hi folks,
I see the debate has started again in relation to web based forecasts !
Here is my forecast for the next 5 to 7 days.
At long last there is an end in sight to the 'railroading' weather that I predicted last week and that has actually happened !
The pressure systems in north Africa are moving south and taking the warm temperatures with them. In doing this, it has taken away the long flow of warm air from the central Atlantic ( that I talked about last week)
A very large low pressure system is building in north west Russia during Tuesday that will throw colder air down through the Balkan region into Wednesday. A smaller low pressure system rushes through Italy, Albania, Greece and Bulgaria during early Thursday that will push the cold air back north.
This pressure system moves north east and then starts to pull in very cold air from central Russia during Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ok so thats the anorak material completed (for anyone thats interested !) now onto rain, sleet and snow.
Snow to come Tuesday 2nd and looks like a reasonable amount. Anything below about 1000m will probably be rain. Lots of 'stuff' to come Thursday, Friday and Saturday but I am not going to put my money on if its rain or snow....only because my data is unclear on the freezing level..sorry ! (prob snow!)
Hope this helps folks, beyond next week I hear you ask?...Its looking good !
Really mild today in Bansko town, sun and intermittant cloud and rain. Quite windy so i imagine will remain changable...
Im still confident we will get a good dump as we are due one, funny how nature has a way of evening things out
