I don't agree Terry, apart from the resort based accommodation you will have to travel up to resort, there is no town as such, and as for arranging trips to Plovdiv/Sofia/Rila Monastery, perhaps not much fun for a 2 yr old... and it is more expensive than Bansko.
There are loads of activities here, horse riding, Ski-dooing, atv's, day trips to all mentioned, and Greece. It is possible to use the lift system as a foot passenger so the mountain is accessible. There are many spa treatment ...

There are many spa treatment facilities, as well as hot mineral spas in nearby towns and villages.... but of this what would be of interest to a 2 yr old ???? There used to be a play area in the Bansko Mall, not sure if that is there anymore, and small playcentres dotted around Bansko, but the locals do not use them, and any centre finds it very difficult to survive.
2 seasons ago i skied with my daughter in a backpack type carrier, you want to hear the stick i got about that from the `interweb', didn't stop me anyway, and she loved it........

You wont regret booking for Bansko, its our favourite resort. We have been going to Bulgaria twice a year for the past 12 years. We love Pamps as well but not too keen on Borovets as its a bit lively for us oldies lol.
We go on 26 Feb and we got a great deal with Balkan. 4 star, half board with lift pass for £610 for the two of us bargain

But what we have decided is that we will be comming to Bulagaria, next season and for the next 2 yrs, for us to learn how to ski, b4 the girls come with us in 2yrs. So going to look into booking for 2012/2013.
