Hey, anyone tried putting two boards (or sets of skis) in one bag for the flight? Flying with Thomas Cook and apparantly they only allow one board/set per board/ski bag.
If they are tight on this, has anyone used a ski bag as their normal checked bag, and just put all their clothes in that, or are there restricted dimensions for your normal checked bag?
Hi Stu,
We always put my skis and my husbands board in one bag, my bindings have to go in case though as not enough room. We've never been asked how many are in one bad but think I would tell a fib! Lol
Never had a problem.
Queenie.
I always put two boards in along with boots and helmets. As long as the weight is less than the allowance there shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like TC are just trying to make a sneaky extra quid or two
We get 4 X sets of Ski in a double bag and only ever pay for one.
(2 kids skis and 2 adult short skis) check the small print as back up, ie is excess luggage a bag with an attached weight or per item.
Regards
Ian
I fly with Wizz Air and they charge for sports bags. Effectively double the price of normal hold luggage. Last year took 3 boards bindings and boots. No questions asked. Was within weight. Good luck.
As per the other posts we have 1 large ski bag and 4 pairs of skis in it but only pay for the one. Always fly with Thomas cook and going next week to bansko
The airline staff have no authority to check whats in your ski bags, the only people that are allowed to do so are airport security/customs.
As long as your within the weight limit then you can put in what you like.
