You could try Kas & Bobby who may be able to recommend accommodation and they do food and drink deals on half board and all inclusive basis. You can also check purpletravel out and see what they have. Hope that helps.
It's relative isn't it? what do you call cheap? How much do you want to spend? You should probably work on a full ski package inc, pass, equipment and school between approx £160 and £200 just for starters. It'll probably cost you approx. £200 p/head to get there and back with a full baggage allowance and have a bed for the week. So £400 p/head plus food, in half term, is cheap for a ski holiday
I'm taking my 4 adult kids to Borovets at the end of January,
We are flying BA using avios air miles so flights are costing us just £30 each in fees.
We're staying half board at Samokov Hotel for £25 pp per night, that's £175 per person for the week
Full ski/snowboard packs with Hunters are 237 euros which is about £200 per person.
Add on travel insurance, airport parking in the UK, transfers in Bulgaria, lunches, a couple of nice evening meals out (one in Samokov town ...

We might get it around £500 per head if we're lucky. Probably not given the amount we all manage to drink! But it's still a really cheap ski holiday compared to the rest of Europe.
But even if we stayed in cheaper accommodation no way would that happen if we had to pay for flights, and all airlines bump up their flight prices for Feb half term. When we went that week in 2010 I booked the flights on Bulgaria Air in March 2009 and still paid £160 pp. I rented an apartment in the Royal Plaza that week, but by the time you add in all your food and meals it did''t work out any cheaper than half board in a hotel.
Good luck with it Gilly, let us know what bargains you find out there!

I have return tickets for Feb 2014 half term week for £150 p/p rtrn. BG Air were £169 at the time of booking and according to them that was a special. 4 weeks later BG Air were offering £129 return. I'm happy with my £150 tickets as it's a tenner less than I paid in 2012 and the same as 2013 with the same airline and all have been half term. My point being is that there are bargains to be had if you shop around and maybe get a bit of luck and you don't have to leave it to the last min but ...

I normally book March/April or May. That early you have to go with the Major carriers. Forget BA as it's half term. I normally go with Lufthansa from Heathrow although some bargains can be had with Air France. You have to bear in mind that these carriers will not fly you to Sofia direct. Air France will be via Paris and Lufhansa will be via Frankfurt or Munich. Of course this route adds a couple of hours to journey time but transit times can be a little as 20 or 30 mins and ...
Hi Marcello
I normally book March/April or May. That early you have to go with the Major carriers. Forget BA as it's half term. I normally go with Lufthansa from Heathrow although some bargains can be had with Air France. You have to bear in mind that these carriers will not fly you to Sofia direct. Air France will be via Paris and Lufhansa will be via Frankfurt or Munich. Of course this route adds a couple of hours to journey time but transit times can be a little as 20 or 30 mins and they've yet to loose any of our luggage. The good thing with Lufthansa is that food and drink are still free and up til recently you were able to take an extra 15kg ski bag at no extra charge. Alitalia offer similar via Rome but connections can be tricky. Air BG offer direct flights but you have to keep trying to get the best prices. I guess ultimately it is not half term in Germany/Austria or France so they don't load the fare prices. A couple of years ago I had a mate flying in from Manchester, another from Birmingham and my daughter on an earlier flight from Heathrow, it was great we all met in Munich and flew on together.
I've not paid any more than £160 for any return flight half term week and my next flights came in at £150
Thanks Mark - I'd previously not really considered in-direct flights but at that time of year it sounds like a good option. That first day is written off by the travelling anyway (ie: you're not going to get up the mountain) so that extra couple of hours is not a big deal...
Think we may have fallen lucky as half term here isn't the same as in the Balkan brochure so travelling 23rd Feb, 4 of us HB in Iglika palace with full ski packs & flights from that big airport near Stockport has cost £2100
