Never go to Bansko when the downhill is on, talk about no organisation what so ever. It took us 3.5 hrs of pushing and getting crushed yesterday to get on the Gondola. Reports saying today will be a little better but not a lot as its a bank holiday here in Bulgaria, apart from that all well. Hotel Perun still fantastic and last nights meal was excellent.re: 3.5hr queue for lift in Bansko
Very true Mel. We tryed to get up the hill on Saturday gave up after a hour glad we did. Went in Happy end what a joke tryed to con us out off money had non of it.Anyone going DO NOT go to this bar they are SCUM!!!

Can you walk to a chair lift? Where is that? Can you by-pass the Gondola entirely to get to the main action zones?re: 3.5hr queue for lift in Bansko
you should go to borovets the longest wait for chair lifts is a maximim of 10 minutes and the wait for the gondola is about 35 minutes and that is first thing in the morning wait an jour and youll only wait about 10 15 minutes if that

Unfortunate as it was World Cup time - apparently there were free buses up the mountain but no one in the resort advertised this fact! BG National Holiday also so that a busy time. Times like this and half term etc it seems the gondola really struggles but most of the time, it is fine.
Maverick where did you walk to? The 'hidden' chairlift? Chalin? Admire your determination walking 1/2 an hour!

I don't want to say I told you so BUT I TOLD YOU SO.Biathlons, downhill races any major competitions avoid Basko on those dates!!!

And the queue was just as bad today if not worse, ended up getting a taxi 50 lev but worth it not to go though that again. Apparently tomorrow will be the same, yet another holiday over here!!!!!! Had a note throught the door from Crystal to say meet instructors outside ski depot as we will get priority, thank god. Yes Maverick in the Perun now until Sat 3 of us 2 boarding 1 skiing.

Doh. Hope you get better luck tomorrow Mel - that's good if the instructors can whizz you through the queue. I agree with getting a taxi but too many trips at 50 Lev soon whacks into the holiday spends - though I guess you sharing so not so bad.Glad you found the cheap beer
