a resort tax is charged in Borovets and is 1lev I think. this is per person but not sure if it is per night or per week. It is collected from the hotels. I'm not use how efficient the collection of the tax is. I guess as you are providing accomodation you might fall under the same rules.

yes pete, whilst they may not write the contracts the management company have an obligation to include them, if they make a mistake they should pay!!!!

If you need to rent in BG, dont buy.

However BG do offer some good investments. Like easy access savings accounts at 7% Wink

Belated advice admittedly, but sound advice still. Wink

Threads like this just go to show, how people bought without knowing the full picture/problems of 'renting out' in BG.

Renting out holiday homes, makes it cheaper for the owner. Very rarely do these places make actual profit, even in the best resorts in the alps.

Eyepaul, what complex are you at? If this is a legal tax I'll pay it. Through my business account rather than direct to the site managers. Still don't get it why other owners don't pay this though.

Certainly don't need to rent as I bought the place without a mortgage over 3 years ago & use my villa loads, as do friends & family. However the odd rental is a bonus. I'm very happy with my purchase Roger. Smile

The resort tax in Borovets is 1lev per adult per night and 50 stotinki for children under the age of 18.This tax is paid if your complex is catorgorized or if you are independant and you rent your property out and have done the catorgorisation yourself.
