Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Firstly to Rob, perhaps you would explain where and when I said it was a 'crap' idea. I said nothing of the sort, but did explained why this discussion board would not revert to a chat room.

Comments on chat rooms come and go. They are also governed by a specific topic, and do not allow people like myself the opportunity to answer questions and concerns once the topic has changed. They also have a tendancy to become aggresive and abusive when two different points of views are being made. This is something this board never has, and never will tolerate. Those are facts whether you like it or not.

Thousands of chat room were shut down recently for this very reason, and you may as well get used to the idea that the format on here will not be changing.

We welcome all who wish to take part in the fun on here, 9 or 90 it makes no difference.

If you are not happy with how this board is operated then please go elsewhere rather than criticise people who spend hours on here helping others. If you also do not enjoy the light hearted banter that is a welcomed feature on here, then again please look elsewhere.

The people who set this board up charge you nothing for the chance to talk to others who share your passion for Bulgaria. This is not a service you have subscribed to, but an open forum that has allowed you free entry provided you stick to the guidelines. They also should not be expected to explain themselves because YOU want something different.

Why not set up your OWN chat room if that is what you want, nobody is stopping you.

In short, if you don't like the film you are watching........turn over.

So Pete, if I can ask a couple of questions regarding this which I don't think you have anwered-
1) The discussion board is clearly currently being used as a chat room, and for private messages between small groups of people, as well as for questions, answers, information and discussion about Bulgaria that would have appeal to people outside of those small groups of individuals. Two forums are possible, the software in use would seem to support it (eg click "forum list"), what would be the objection to that, since it would seem to give everyone what they want?

2) Who exactly is responsible for deciding on the structure and moderating the content on this board, (eg who would someone sue if defamatory statements were made?)

Why do people want to change success????
5 weeks ago this board was receiving about 40 messages a day. That has now grown to over 1,000 per day. So yea, lets change it all for the wants of a couple of people who post on here about twice a week.

If any remarks are made on this board that are in any way racist, abusive, or harming in any way then I see to it that they are removed and the poster will get 1 stern warning. If this is ignored then they will have their postings blocked and will never be re-instated. This has only happened twice in 2 years.

This is not my site, it is yours and mine alike. But someone has to keep a watchful eye on what is being posted, and that is what BulgariaSki have asked me to do. And I try and do it in a friendly, informitive manner that suits all.
So enjoy it for what it is, and not what it is not.

Ally will agree that he spent a lot of time and effort setting up a Summer Chatroom that was closed down under new legislation. Dispite all his work the chatroom had at most about 5 or 6 people at any one time.
