Kas will advise you as she is in the resort - she should be online soon. She is also a moderator on here.

You dont need to share your opinion on every thread on the forum though do you?

I mean, make one thread about it and discuss it there!!

Its simple really mate.

Thanks again,

Benn, deep breaths in through the nose and slowly out through the mouth you remember what the doctor said about the panic attacks now don't you. Fully agree with you about hijaking though. Perhaps if we ignore him he'll go away although it didn't work with you lol
Now what was it you wanted to know??
You say you have a 14 year old (f) with you so perhaps you might want to avoid Frankos/BJs/Black Tiger after 11 if your still up at that time unless this trip is to be an educational one as ...

You say you have a 14 year old (f) with you so perhaps you might want to avoid Frankos/BJs/Black Tiger after 11 if your still up at that time unless this trip is to be an educational one as they get a bit rowdy. We found when we were out in January that a few of the Bars have changed since last year and therefore what was a great atmosphere 2009 and 2010 wasn't necessarily so this time around. Like Pete says Kas and Bobby (live in Samokov village 10mins downhill from Boro by taxi) should be able to advise. I did pop into their place at the top of the gondola - (the White House, as it says on the tin the only white cafe at the top on the right hand side as you head to the Markudjik Ski area) which does nice hot choc, beer, soft drinks (didn't get chance to eat there)but prices on a par with resort and you'll get 10% discount if you mention Bulgaria Ski. It has a huge log burning stove too which is an added bonus. I'll let Kas tell you more about the rest of the resort.
Chill out stay focussed your doing really well! Razz

re: Advice For New Travellers To Bulgaria

Hi Benn,
Most bars are ok with teens, I took both my girls in the bars two years ago when they were 10 and 12.
There are the odd 1 or 2 that aren't suitable, Buzz Bar is 1 that springs to mind. BJ's Bar, White Magic (Chris Angelov ex olympic skier-ask about his shot ski!), Royal Oak (nice log fire) are all ok on a night time.

Food on the Slopes- We had good food at the White House last week and the prices are comparable to down in the resort, but most instructors (if u r in a group) ...

Food on the Slopes- We had good food at the White House last week and the prices are comparable to down in the resort, but most instructors (if u r in a group) will use the other more expensive places as instructed by their ski schools, but thats not to say that you have to eat there as they are all close by at the top of the gondola!
Eating at night-We only did this once this year and went to the Black Tiger. The food was fine and reasonably priced. But other places from previous years are 1, Katy's Steak House (on main drag), 2, Marmacitas. 3, Blue (up near Franko's) Derby (again nr Franko's) and there is a nice Pizza Place down the hill from the gondola.

Money-Be very careful changing at the street booths (you get the buy rate) use 'Crown' booths on the street. Last week I got the best rate from the bank in the entrance to the basement of the Samokov Hotel 2.29 to the pound. Just go bown the slope to the right of the front entrance.

Hope this helps matey and have a great time Wink

Pete
