HI del boy. I like them both for different reasons so try to alternate and do them year about. Bansko has a slightly better hill, but Borovets has a slightly better nightlife, but really not much in it.
Like the compactness of Borovets and like the fact that you can wander and explore in Bansko
Thanks everyone for all the useful information, it's really appreciated-and you have all put my mind at ease, so to speak. (keep the info coming, if you can!)
It was my decision to do something different and book Bulgaria this year, so I feel a responsibility (I said to everyone in my party "on my head be it!") But, if the people in Borovets are as helpful and friendly as the members on this forum, I know we will have a great time!

Sarah mentioned she thought Borosports have new equipment this year- can anyone confirm this?
Thanks Jez for your post-horse riding sounds a good idea and really different-would not have thought of that. I took a look at your vids - well done to your son BTW- very impressed with his skiing- my 25(!) year old daughter is a complete beginner and your son has set the bar high- I've sent her the link and I told her I expect her to be able to do the same by the end of the week!!
There are also some (quite smelly!) horse and carts around to help get your bearings and to occasionally carry you off the slope when injured - thats another story!! make sure you don't accept the first price though. Further afield is Rila monastory well worth a visit but quite a long trip, a bit closer is the King's hunting lodge if you fancy a day off the skis and most importantly, there are plent of very reasonable spa treatments available, much cheaper than at home - try the Flora ...

Enjoy!
Haha Robert, what I meant was some of the camera angles, bluring round the edges and some low contrast which almost gives it a "black&white converted into colour" type effect. I know the kit you use is decent new stuff - or perhaps it was my monitor??
Really happy I come across this thread. I book my ski's/boots and lift passes separately. Phoned today and amended my booking to take advance of the Ski saver offer and they are going to refund me some money - And I get lessons too!
