Advice needed

I've seen an offer on lastminute.com for a £149 package to Borovets that includes the option to book lessons/hire for an additional £99.Leaving on the 7th Feb
Can anyone recommend alternative deals/packages or should I take this one on.
The group is mixed between beginners/intermediates and ski/boarders. With some only requireing ski or board hire.
What is the best method of securing decent equipment at a reasonable price.
your help is much appreciated.

Sounds a good deal to me Smurfy. Is it Half board? You could check out Crystals offers and Inghams as they both seem to be good for late availabilty. Definatley pre book your equipment/ lessons before you go it is much cheaper.(see millions of previous posts on this one)

yep it's half board... hotel allocated on arrival min 2 star.Any sites/tel numbers on pre-booking equipment ?

Ah there lies a problem. you cant pre book your equipment through this site unless you book the holiday with them. Cant Last minute do this for you?re: Advice needed

they can only book ski/boot hire + lessons. Not just equipment hire it seems.Though from looking on the web I came across a price list that showed equipment hire only was the same as incl. lessons (e.g. about £100).. is this true.
Also I'm a bit concerned about some peoples somments about the quality of the skis/boards .. is this an issue or just someone being OTT ?

Well I have not been to Borovets but I guess that the equipment is the same as in Pamporovo which was very old. But I now understand that they have taken delivery of loadsa new gear for this season so that should no longer be a problem. I would just pay the £99 then mate and not bother turning up for lessons as this seems a very good deal all in.re: Advice needed
Having skied once or twice before, ive always found the equipment to be adequate, and to be honest if i was running a ski hire business im b*****y sure i wouldnt be handing out spanking new stuff to english skiers!!!!! they seem to think its ok using skis over rocks tarmac etc. A lot of the moans are unjustified cause i really doubt that that many posters here warrant top skis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any one with enough money can buy a ferrari, not many can really drive one know what i mean.re: Advice needed
thanks for the info .. I just wanted to make sure the skis were not dangerous .. and will not put off beginners.Looks like this is going to be booked then... see you there

Don't be put off by the comments about skis, I was one who put on here that my skis were dire, which they were and had obviously led a previous life in another resort. I saw plenty of people with decent looking hire skis, some pretty new

Putting my ski comments in context it was the only negative point I had about the entire holiday so will not put me off going back. The staff in the ski depot were very friendly and I'm sure that ...

Don't be put off by the comments about skis, I was one who put on here that my skis were dire, which they were and had obviously led a previous life in another resort. I saw plenty of people with decent looking hire skis, some pretty new.
Putting my ski comments in context it was the only negative point I had about the entire holiday so will not put me off going back. The staff in the ski depot were very friendly and I'm sure that if I'd asked for different skis I would have got them, I think I could have paid to get them waxed for about £2 as well, which, my own fault, I did not bother looking into.
If you are a complete beginner and there is some snow on the beginners slopes then the sharpness of your edges will make negligible difference. I only really noticed it towards the end of last week when a couple of the runs off the chairlifts became a bit icy.
So from one who complained on here about his skis, don't let that stop you going to Borovets.
Have a great time - for less money than I did!!!!
