Advice on Winter Sports Insurance Companies

Off to Bansko from Glasgow on the 28th Jan with my girlfriend.

Was hoping that someone could advise where best to get Single Trip Winter Sports cover.

We have booked with Balkan, but did not take their cover as it seemed a bit steep.

Our main focus is good cover for injuries (God forbid!), and not so much damage/loss of equipment (we are hiring).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dabossman,

Your insurance still needs to cover hired gear! Try moneysupermarket.com as a comparison site. Having said that, I use Marks & Spencer, had to claim a couple of times for minor things - no problem at all

I have used Nationwide as I bank with them. My son had an accident two years ago and needed x-rays. All was sorted with me just having to pay the £50 excess which they took off my credit card. The medic said they'd had a few people with the Nationwide insurance. The x-ray facility is in the bottom of the gondola station. He was seen and out within an hour, luckily nothing broken, just bruising. The medics were excellent and spoke english, reasuring for my 10 year old! Needless to say we've ...

Needless to say we've got the same insurance again this year.

I didn't get M&S insurance myself, but got some Lev there, and they give you a £5 voucher of travel insurance.

They also give you a discount if you have an M&S credit card!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Good thing I asked, as I would have thought insurance for equipment would have been build in to the hire cost!
