That mind set will keep you skiing for years to come, nice one. Confidence is a great thing and when you are just starting essential, when you start pushing the envelope you have to be totally honest with yourself as to your ability and ski within it because the bottom line is your neck (and others)
Sorry to be heavy, seen to many injuries that were needless....
Again, good sound advice and common sense. Good to know that there are others out there who share my views on safety and keeping within one's ability. I have snapped my anterior cruciate ligament in me knee already, not from skiing but climbing, fractured my shoulder from a surfing accident and do NOT want to go through that all over again. By the way those accidents were purely accidental and by no means was I out of my depth or ability. These things can happen if you are an active outdoor ...

I didn't hear about that. Very unfortunate. Like I mentioned higher up this thread, i will scout it out from the blue run that runs parallel to it and if it is in good condition and not too icy then I will give it a go - very cautiously of course! I wouldn't attempt anything like that run unless it was in ideal conditions.
Done the run yesterday on skis and today on my board. Snow conditions on Tomba are nearly perfect. A couple (small) icy patches near the top, other than that it was fine. HAPPY SKIING and maybe see you around Bansko
He did not set it up, he was the guset of honour last year and he skiied down this run. The place is steep, my children would not go down, and you can always see some troubled skiers on it, wondering what to do with themselves. I have not had a chance to go down, but will definitely try it, it is not really that difficult, just quite long, steep and testing. Must be great.
