Looking at the comments on here, 95% of people LOVE the resorts that they have been to, which is pretty good. Have only been to Pamps n had best hols ever. Booking to go back next year cos the ski school was great and its a stunning place. But had a friend who ski's regularly n she swears Bansko is best. Its horses for courses! Pamps is charming n quite quiet, but with a couple of cracking bars (Daks is the best but most people never go further BJs in the Perelek)
only been to pamps but it had everything i wanted, loved it so much we are booked for next year/skiing through pine forests is much nicer than being stuck on a rock which are prone to high winds.
very good skiers might get bored if they want to do 100 miles an hour,
but we loved it
having only visited Borovets and Bansko (very briefly) I was not impressed with either but listening to comments on Pamps might give that a try one year. Hope you have a fab time wherever you decide to go.
Only been to Pamps, first time skiing aswell so no expert but it was fantastic, one of the best holidays we've ever had, will definitely be going back next year.
I really enjoyed borovets! i had a whale of a time, i think it was to do with meeting lots of fab people, ive never been fussy and im ok with the basics really so i just tend to overlook problems automatically! i think wherever u go u will have a great time, i think pamps and bansko sound excellent too but to be honest i sort of feel a loyalty to borovets (how sad am i)

I've been to both Pamps and Borovets - I prefer Borovets for the following reasons:
1. The hotels are mostly right by the ski area
2. There are two / three separate ski areas and depending on your level and the weather, you are not restricted on one particular place e.g. after the first couple of days, beginners go to the top of the gondola to practice on the long nursery slope there whereas in Pamps, its just that long green run from the top of the tower.

4. No bell sellers
That's just my opinion though - maybe if I'd have gone to Pamps first and then Borovets, things could have been the other way around
I think it depends what you are looking for. We went to Bansko this year and loved it but probably better for Intermediates and above. I like the fact that it is a real town and not just another purpose built resort.
Boro and Pamps have their fans but the no of runs looks limited to me which is why we chose Bansko and will definitely go back.
