Hi Guys anything new this year to look forward too. Are the prices looking like they will be up or down. The site must start early.

Hi,heapsterWell according to the grapevine over here this is the latest,new cables on the gondola and some of the other lifts so more cars on the gondola and less waiting ???.
Also they have widened the ski path between yastrabets 1 & 2 and made a link direct to mid station gondola, if i get any more info i will let you know.

Ceko (FI Bank) has spilled some loose change (40 million E) to improve infrastructure, come on Boro, great job in the summer, let the winter festivities commence
On the subject of Minev, seems he has taken up smoking again, the fires on Vitosha being witness (no one else though

Bulgaria ski put a post on their facebook page about the 40million euro and improvments to the resort etc etc
So I asked what apart from the new gondola cable was being done to warrant 40 million. He was their response after others commented too......

I can confirm the new ski path between 1 and 2. It used to be a ski run (link btw the 2) and then over time they let the bushes grow up so there has been no run there for around 20 years... Bobby was working on it / clearing it with the other insturctors / volunteers in June - I think I posted about it then.
Bobby spoke to the manager on Saturday and he confirmed there wold also be some more cannons, upgrade of some of the cables on the Gondola but no new or extra cars and ...

They do want to put new snow cannons on Rotata 1 (next to Yanakiev hotel) in order that this nursery slope can be used for night skiing. So...beginners would go up on Rila 4 man chair and then take the easy way down and cut into George's run so the idea would be to have cannons all the way down from this point to the bottom of the Rotata run BUT they have not confirmed if they will go ahead with this or not yet- we will keep you posted...
Snow Cannons for Markudjik slopes are still being 'talked' about for 14/15 season but who knows and there is definitely nothing definite.
On the restaurant side, so far just 1 restaurant will be knocked down due to non-payments of rent for many years (we will let you know if there are any more) and Red Lion pub (which we looked at renting but it had no room for the children) is now an Indian restaurant (being refurbed at the moment) and is being run by Yassen who also has Franco's restaurant and Catina (opposite Venice Pizza). Bobby is just sorting out whether he will also give 10% discount to forum users (similar to some of the other places that have agreed to this) we will know today and will update you....!

Update..... Bobby just spoken to Yassen and he has said that Red Lion or Cantina could be the Indian as he hasn't decided which he wants to use for this yet, but regardless he has agreed we can give everyone discount cards for the Indian and you will get 10% reduction or free drinks etc and other special offers. The only problem is he is still looking for Indian chefs and won't open without them, so if anyone knows of any, then give us a shout!!Kas

HiYep - I did, was in hopsital all day yesterday (again!!) but back working now and just ploughing through emails and messages as I have loads, but will get back to you today x
