Any tips please?

Hi, we are heading to Bansko this Christmas, SO excited. I am basically a complete novice having been skiing once for one day when I was 12 years old. The rest of our group of six is pretty much the same - except some of them have never even seen snow. Should make for some good laughs!

The list of things to take is the problem, I have done a bit of research, but would like some tips. Any suggestions appreciated greatly. Have just bought what I hope is a decent jacket and pants, goggles.
What unusual or out of the ordinary thing would you never leave home without for a week in the snow?

2. Gloves or mittens? I am skiing and I suffer terribly in the cold so I am leaning towards mittens - what are the pros and cons?

Thanks heaps in advance,

Jo

Don't forget your high factor sun screen or you could get badly burned - the sun is strong at altitude.

Thermals..... Don't forget your thermals.

Mittens are good.

There was a list last weekend so search back through the posts to find it or do a search on this site, I'm sure you'll find it useful.
