Any truth in flight delays?

Hi Guys,

I am travelling in 4 weeks time and really looking forward to it. However alot of the people that I have spoke to have had a little moan about the Flight Delays in Sofia.... is this true? one of them said they were delayed 6 and a half hours

Looks like the snow is finally picking up, fingers crossed there is some left for last week in feb.

nope no truth in that at all. All depends on luck of the draw. Unfortunately my flight yesterday wasnt delayed as it took almost 5 hours to get from Bansk to Sofia and we missed our flight!!!!

Im happier knowing that its not the bulgarian airports then. How good/bad is sofia airport?

Still trying to find the best exchange rate, think I will leave it until I get over to Borovets..... cant argue with 2.15ish!!

hey dave take a look at my thread on exchange rate..looks like over there is the best deal from 2.25 to 2.3 beats 2.16

Managed to get 3 seats on the Balkan flight into Heathrow at 2pm for 200 lev each which we were not going to moan at.

It was comedy there were probably about 10 crashes around the airport all within 100 yards of each other. Most of them were caused by lorries trying to move out of the way and crushing cars that they didnt see below them. Police were there but seemed to enjoy just watching everything unfold. No attempts to clear the way for anyone.

We are in Sofia now and dropped someone off at the airport earlier today, not that much snow and transportation seems normal, no flight delays due to weather as far as we could see, although Thomas Cook to Manchester delayed for other reasons

Been traveling to Sofia for over 5 years only had one 2 hours delay in all the time , i have flown with various air lines and at all times both night and day , its not a mega huge airport so less chance for delays too
