Bulgaria Ski discussion board

As above, it's not looking good at all. The instructors are saying the season is over as the resort won;t recover from last weeks thaw. We were there last week- it sounded like it was raning day and night as the snow was melting everywhere and dripping off the roof. I gotta be honest and say I don't envy anyone going out there now or in the following weeks, snow cannons aren;t on as no water and not cold enough and the piste bashers have scavenged all teh snow they can btu there just ain't any left to play with. You'll be skiing mid-station up only as the lower runs-especially the green is a no go.
We've had 2 dissapointing yrs, and , i'm afriad we're looking to go elsewhere next yr. The people are lovely and the place is great, but , when you go skiing, you need snow!

Have been to pamporovo for 20 years. Was there 3 weeks ago and the sking was brillant. Going this Sat again and from talking to my friends in Bulgaria things are not looking good. Went twice last year and it was the worst conditions for 15 years. Our group are now becoming very dejected with 1. The conditions 2. The lack of foresight of the ski company to invest on the slopes as everywhere you look there are more and more hotels/ appartments springing up. 3. The cost of everything has just trebled in this past 3 years with no more major improvements made to equate this. Yes the Bulgarian people are fantastic and the Ski school is very well run but they are now pricing themselves out of the market.
Reason i'm going back on Sat- Well i'm taking 80 children from school who deserve a better response from ski company with regard to investment to protect the slopes.
Hope snow falls in buckets but alas it dont look that way.
