I'm in Pamps at the moment. Not looking great - t shirt weather at forest nook this morning but you can still get some good skiing at the top. You can go from the top of the mountain to the bottom at present but it gets really threadbare towards Malina and the main greens are slushy by the end of the day.
Also because the snow is wet I've been on the blacks (don't usually bother) to be honest they're great and what's more are empty. Not much consolation for beginners though.

The locals are usually right when predicting snow. Was there last year end of March, had MASSIVE dump. It was so bad the lifts were shut for a day had about 2ft in 24hrs.re: Any1 just come back from Pamp or there now?
I have to agree with Malo. This is the second year to have a very short ski season with poor snow. I too skied three weeks ago and conditions were great but for anyone going now-forget it.
The investment in the resort is very poor, plenty of accomodation, new hotels, apartments etc. but no new infrastructure. Prices now worse than Austrian and French Ski resorts. It's now £2.40 English Pounds for a 500ml bottle of coke in some of the eateries on the mountain.

Pat - you can't go wrong with USA and Canada. I've been to Banff for the past 2 years and am going again in Jan 09.Bulgaria has always and always will be (not that im planning on going ever again) a cheap wk, 2nd boarding hol of the season for me.
