HiHeading out to Borovets for the 1st time on the 25th Jan with some friends and i was wondering what the Apre ski was like.
There are plenty of posts about various bars and what not, but hardly anything about the entertainment in them I.E live bands/solo artists.

You picked a great to week. Go to Bobbys Bar on the 26th and you will be entertained. Maybe not solo artists or live bands but I'm sure Spartacus will be doing a turn. As well as Bobbys, Mamacitas has a live band on every night, good and good food, Katys normally has a guitarist/soloist every night and great steaks.Forum meet in Bobbys Bar Sunday the 26th where you can meet all the posters off the forum, normally a great night.

Welcome JimWe are also out on the 25th.
There is loads going on in Boro. As Scubasam said live music in the venues mentioned. There are also a really good mix of bars and small clubs. But Bobbys Bar is a must for meeting people and getting involved. The Forum meet on the 26th is going to be loads of fun so come along and join in.

Hi Jim,Come and join in the invasion and you will be up to your ear lobes in entertainment!! Sunday in Bobbys is Australia Day and all sorts of things are planned it was a riot last year ! As Scubasam says there are a few bars with live music on at various times, and quite a lot of lively spots !

sounds like there is plenty going on then and i have seen the reviews about Bobbys so i,ll drop in in aussie day.
being Irish and having a brother in Australia is a good excuse for me to celebrate (actually i'll celebrate anything)
I have looked at the web cam for bobbys at various times over the last few weeks and been surprised that the bar never seems to get full considering the amount of reviews it gets on here and tripadvisor.
I,m not sure if the webcam streams live as the date ...

There is a livestream however these 2 weeks are now the quietest 2 weeks of the season and as such the whole resort is empty. All the places are really struggling due to limited snow / open runs so hopefully the naked snow dances will start to work soon. Over Christmas / New Year we had to bring in extra tables from outside as we had 100 people coming in every night but as it is a large place maybe it did not seem full.

Hi Allsounds good.... at least i'll be able to afford going out without crying in the morning
I have been going to Meribel/french alps/Austria for the last 10 years and can not believe the cost of booze over the last few years (avg 7 euros pint in Meribel)
On another note is there any decent gear shops as i need to replace some kit and if its cheap in Borovets i'll wait till i get there.

Hi Again,You can get some cheap deals at the start and towards the end of the season but I am pretty sure some of the board members have found better deals back in the UK / ebay etc than they offer out here. I am sure someone will come online soon and be able to offer more advice about this.

As Kas says Ebay is a good shout. Some great deals on there if you buy it now and even better ones if you are prepared to play the Ebay waiting game and get bidding.
Personally I swear by Surfanic stuff and this is available on their own website or there is masses on Ebay if you don't mind if it might be last years stuff.

Tk Max is always worth a try, sometimes they do get left with the very small or very large sizes though. I have tried there a few times and not found anything to suit, but then you go back the next week and find something perfect.
