Hey Ski freaks...
Can someone please tell me if I am going to be o.k ski-ing in just thermals, salopettes and jacket? Do you suggest a fleece aswell?
All tips appreciated, Ta.
Depends on temps Floss. It looks to be quite warm at mo, but can drop pretty dramatically. We were there this time last year and it was below -20 with wind chill. I wore thermals, polo jumper and a fleece, plus neck warmer and hat. If you take them you can always leave them off if it's too warm
Spoil sport?????
Good tips folks, I guess its all down to temperatures on the day. I know, in true girlie fashion, I'll take almost my entire wardrobe....and then some! BRILLIANT.
Depends on the level that you ski too.
If your a newie there is a lot of standing around so three layers is the norm. thermal, fleece, jacket.
if your more compitent...er good, then either thermals and fleece and jacket are good.
I skied a month ago in just a thermal top and salomon hoodie and I was warm enough.
Your right it depends on the day, but its better to be warm than to be cold, you can always take a layer off.
hope that helps.
When we were there it was on the Tuesday and Wednesday (that was the coldest day of all), then by Friday it had warmed up enough to melt all the snow on the trees.
Hi Floss, I'm quite a wimp but even I found thermals too warm - just wore a fleece & normal vest top (with my jacket of course). The main things I would recommend are good gloves, socks & a hat/ hood you can put on when on the lifts or at the top of the mountain.
