I have asthma and I just take both inhalers 5 times a day instead of the usual 2, which helps keep airways open and prevents attack. DO NOT take steroids if you don't need them! I always take a pack of prednisolone with me, just in case, but they are very strong drugs and each time you take them, even tho they're marvellous when needed, you are doing damage!
I only ever get a severe asthma attack if I have a severe cold and it moves to my chest. I've skied each winter since 2005, am 50 ...

I only ever get a severe asthma attack if I have a severe cold and it moves to my chest. I've skied each winter since 2005, am 50 years old, and have twice had a bad cold while away but by increasing my inhalers haven't needed to take steroids.
