There is a women's World Cup Race in Banslo on these dates. The other year there was a biathloon event and everyone said that it was a nightmare getting up to the ski slopes because the athletes and journalists got priority on the Gondola lifts. So everyone had to queue for hours and some had to resort to taking a taxi up which was expensive.

However, as we were able to watch the race on the last morning we were there, before we caught bus to airport, more than made up for it as the atmosphere was brilliant. Not too often you can be in a ski resort watching these nutters hurtling down sheer verticle slopes at the speeds they do!!!
If you like things a bit more difficult and the tomba run is shut make sure to try chalin valog. 2 very steep runs and really compensated for tombas closure when i was there last year.
