All this talk of Bansko makes me wonder, only ever been to Boro, when in Bansko do you get to ski to the hotel as in the Rila in Boro or not...

Also is the nightlife as good as in Boro, was told it was very quiet, but cant be with all of you going there!

You can sort of ski to the Grand Kempinski as that is at the base of the slopes by the gondola (come down the ski road then shush across the flat at the bottom) but otherwise the hotels are all in the town and all the ones I know of provide a shuttle bus to the gondola - depending on hotel location, 5 mins drive or more. Bansko is "real" town and not purpose built like the other resorts.

I would highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. The skiing and scenery is the tops, the town and people are lovely.

As I said - it is totally different to Boro - I've not seen the 'girls' there, not overrun with clubs and gwady commercialism. When in Boro this year a man outside a bar said "come in come - great prices - Asda prices" and I thought "gawd, I come away from England to forget Asda and the like" !!! Bansko is not at all like that.

Hope that helps - give it a go.

I agree with Kim no man made purpose built ski resort will ever be as good as a real town which is what Bansko is. Some good buzzy bars, 100 mehanas and a great ski area. What more can you want.
