hubby went to Val D'esere last year, the day after we came back from Pamporovo, great skiing but rubbish atmosphere and apres ski was his thoughts on the subject.
i am off to austria in march pete.
enjoyed pamporovo again, sorry never got to have a pint, but more family there this year and even had to leave my group to help them.
but great times
You'll have a ball - just back from Val and it was brilliant. Huge ski area, ggod food and the apres ski is top notch. Food and drink a little more than Bulgaria (did I say a little? I meant 3 times the price!!) but the skiing makes up for it. We've been to Borovets and Bansko and the colour coding of the runs bears no comparison, but no problems for a man of your capabilities!!
good choice-Val D'isere that is.alot of ski runs sure snow cover, choice of hopping to Tignes 1st class lift system plus trains, funiculars etc.No comparison.prices just a little bit more but the ski lift passes more or less the same as in BG.Once you go there there is no coming back .unless you are on the alcohol drinking side and gulp alot every single day
