re: BALKAN HOLIDAYS

never had any probs from Gatick over the past 3 years. Planes are old and look a little ropey, but great flights and i think the best landings i have ever had, very very soft.

From my experience the gatwick planes are scheduled flights so not getting the same problems with being diverted -they seem to use some chrtered and some scheduled flights - you guys must be on the charter ones!

The reason behind the extra pick-ups is because the planes are not full from the original departure points. If the plane was just half full they would not be able to fly and make a profit, as any business seeks to do.

Exta pick up points added at the last minute allows them to continue to honour your holiday, albeit with some minor alterations.

Try getting a BA flight to Bulgaria, and it will cost you about 5 times as much.

It's all about keeping cost down for us the travellers, they do not do this intentionally to wind people up, nor to mislead people, it's just a sensible business decision.

re: BALKAN HOLIDAYS

I don't mind keeping cost down or picking up a few fellow party people on the way.
I'm just a little worried about fly with Balkan after reading previous postings. I normally book with Thomson.

Very Happy

Balkans safety record is second to none as they have never had a recorded accident.

You can be confident that they will look after you and deliver you safely to your destination.

re: BALKAN HOLIDAYS

Got a letter from Balkan a couple of weeks ago to say they had changed our flight times (shock horror!) and the airline we were flying with. We're now flying with Bulgaria Air from Gatwick which I don't mind as last year we had to fly with Balkan on a Tupolov and to be honest I can do without having to ever board one of them again! The main problem is the return flight is now at 7.45 am, meaning we'll be leaving Bansko at around just after 2 in the morning, what a cracking last night we'll ...

we had the same flight time change last year so basically ignoring the 13.30 departure time in brochure and expecting an earlier breakfast!!
