re: BANSKO what hotel?

hi Pete. I'm booked into this hotel for January. Glad you have said its excellent. But how's the food? We're half board.

Also how far away is it from the gondola? Within walking distance if i want to beat the queues for the gondola? what sort of time would you suggest getting there? I know it opens at 8.30 in the morning...

Cheers, Jack

Hi Jack,

Food fine/ok.
10 minute walking distance to gondola.
The Hotel puts on a mini bus to take guests to the gondola, as I recall the first one leaves around 8 ish so there is a hint there.

Basically you would have to be very unlucky to find a really bad one. Even the older traditional hotels can be gems... The more modern hotels will have better facilities, and as stated the likes of the Lion, Perun, Perun Lodge, Premier, Kempinski, Tanne, are all very good, the Strazhite, Bunderitsa, Bansko, Mura, Pirin again are good, i could continue with apart-hotels but i only have a couple of hours Wink
If you see one you like the look of, give us a shout and im sure someone will have a ...

When are you planning on going? This season or next? We went half board for convenience plus it didnt cost much more! Also make sure you book ski passes etc in advance. I got a fantastic deal. 6 day ski pass, 6 day ski and boot hire and 6 days tuition (4 hours/day) for £126!! Absolute bargain.
