I choose my words carfully when i say BOARDING RULES!..
its harder to learn but its so much cooler..If you have ever watched extreme sports you will see what i mean.

Don't listen to the pricks on sticks. Snowboarding is so much cooler more fun and you don't have to wear those salopette thingys (NICE) not. They usually come in purple or pink with lime green.
Hmm well I'd say board but (if you get the option of not deciding before you get there) maybe see what the conditions are like. You fall over A LOT generally when you learn boarding so if it's hard and icy maybe skiing would be the better way to go. However if Hornsters predicted dump arrives boarding
Having been on the mountains for 8 years (only a week or two a year mind) I can see each have their place. For purposes of pure fun I think boarding wins purely from the powder aspect. ...

Having been on the mountains for 8 years (only a week or two a year mind) I can see each have their place. For purposes of pure fun I think boarding wins purely from the powder aspect. However with the advent of twin tips and fatter skis this is no longer as clearcut as it was.
Are you going with other people, if so what are they doing?
If there is only a bit than as a newbie not only will you hurt more from boarding but you'll remove the bit of snow there is on the slopes when you fall.
