Hi All,
No real good news to shout about, and if anyone wants a summer holiday, they should head to Borovets next week,...!! Saying that, whilst it is 't-shirt / hoodie' weather in the day, the evenings are remaining cold and they are still managing to get the snow cannons on in the evenings on both the Yastrebets & Rila runs, which is helping the longevity of the slopes.
So...
Suhar - still in very good condition
Marky 1 - still in very good condition, but a few bare / grassy patches at the bottom
Marky 2 - this is closed, but they have been running the 4 man chair so that beginners can use this rather than the marky 1 drag and then ski across the top. Tomorrow they will CLOSE the 4 man chair, so beginners will need to use the drag OR stay on the Rila slopes.
On the Yastrebets side, the run down (Harima) is very poor and rocky, but still open at the moment. Yastrebets slopes are still in good condition, including all the way to the bottom and should continue to remain so if the temps remain low at night.
Rila slopes - these are in Ok'ish conditions, but getting very slushy due to the high temperatures.
Local forecasts have said snow next Monday, BUT these change all the time - I will update you if there are any changes.
Sorry it's not great news, but if people are yet to book , I would recommend leaving it until there is more snow, especially with half-term coming up and the resort being packed...
Kas
p..s we are still able to do a lock-in down Yastrebets tonight, so keep an eye on the webcams on yastrebets around 5.30ish (3.30 your time) and you may see us!!

re: BORO CONDITIONS - 8TH FEB
Oh I'm really down about the conditions.. I was really hoping for loads of snow this year and the ability to explore what was closed last year. It seems that our group jinx Boro...
I've just accepted that I won't be skiing everyday like i planned. I think this may be a rather drunken holiday spent in the pubs and the White House, drowning my sorrows.
Wondering whether to pask a bikini and sun cream or my skis. *sigh*
At least I'm getting a week's holiday.. I shouldn't grumble, but ...

At least I'm getting a week's holiday.. I shouldn't grumble, but this is my fifth ski holiday and EVERY YEAR (No matter the country) we've had snow issues. I must be a jinx.

Thanks for update not really what I was wanting to hear though! Coming out next week so hopefully it will snow as forecast - will do a snow dance over here as well! Can't wait for a hot chocolate and brandy or will we need an ice cream instead? Anyhow, getting excited!

I am going to be doing a snow dance everyday until we arrive on the 19th Feb and continue to do so until the snow arrives. Come on everyone get your dancing shoes on.
Ah, so its your fault Jo
I know its no consolation, but you have jinxed virtually all the Alps, who are basking in similar temperatures...
I think the bikini is a must, and pictures, even video as penance for your deeds, and as a distraction from the rivers of melted snow
